Reaching Inside, by Andre Dubus III, has been set in Goudy Old Style. Designed by Frederic W. Goudy for the American Type Founders in 1915, the old-style serif typeface takes inspiration from printing during the Italian Renaissance. The diamond shape of the dots of the i, j, and punctuation points give the sturdy typeface an eccentric touch. Goudy was perhaps the best-known and most prolific type designer of his era: by the time he passed away in 1947, he had designed 122 typefaces. The display type is Nobel.
